TFCG announces innovative project integrating forests and agriculture
TFCG is committed to finding solutions that combine forest conservation with improving rural livelihoods. Promoting more sustainable agriculture is one of the greatest challenges in conserving tropical forests. Critical for rural livelihoods, agriculture is also the main driver of tropical deforestation. With new funding from the REDAA programme, TFCG will explore ways to integrate community-based forest management with long-fallow swidden agriculture, in southern Tanzania. The Long Fallows project begins in March 2024 and will be implemented in partnership with the University of Leeds and MJUMITA. Read more about the REDAA programme at: www.redaa.org.
